Magic: the Gathering is the best game ever. There is always new and exciting things. The thing that I like the best as this game gets older the artwork is getting better and better. The art is really stunning on a lot of cards plus they do a lot of extra art shots like this one where characters on the cards are fighting each other. I am really excited about these new colorless cards that are coming out. The Eldrazi. They are creatures of great power that are not beholden to one color and yet they are not artifacts. The giant life form in the picture here is an Eldrazi named Kozilek, Butcher of Truth. Ten mana, draw four cards when he comes out, annihilator four, and if put in graveyard shuffle graveyard into library.
Annihilator is a new ability that when the creature attacks the defending player sacs permanents, in this case four of them. Way powerful.
Lots of wonderful new suprises in this new set.

Vampires are back

Well it has been a very long time since posting here. I am still playing Magic: the Gathering, but only casual and not very often. I am trying to keep up with the new sets coming out, but it is just the intro packs and fat packs that I am getting. The last set Zendikar was pretty cool though. One thing that it did was bring vampires out in force. There are a lot of new vampires and they are cheap to get out. You can now use other vampires as you less expensive creatures and still have room for the big gun vampires like Sengir vampire. There is one that is three to get out and has flying likelink and deathtouch named Vampire Nighthawk(pictured here). There are a lot of new good vampires check them out at wizards! Anyway I really need to go back to sleep. School tomorrow, wonder when I won't be saying that again? Sweet dreams to all you creatures of the night.

Vampires

Well I had this really great idea for a vampire deck. I built the deck and got stomped on every time I played it. I figured out the problem. In a vampire deck you have to have other creatures that help to make mana fast enough to get the vamps out. Vampires are expensive to play. The cheapest mana cost for a vampire is 4, usually a lot more than that. So after getting my butt kicked several times my brother helped me to rebuild the deck. Now it is pretty good and almost does what I wanted it to do. So I am satisfied because it is a good deck. Anyway I haven't posted in a while because I have been so busy actually playing magic instead of thinking about it.

Izzet Deck

I have also made a Izzet guild deck. It is fun to play and has many cards from the guild. One cool card is Wee Dragonauts. It is a cool card and helps out the guild very well. Another really cool card is Izzet Guildmage this guy is one of the best creatures for the Izzet clan. Actually if you are unaware of this there is a guildmage for every guild you can look them up at the gatherer, just type in guildmage. Well I gotta go Heather just made a deck and wants to play me, weird huh.

Draw A Card

I have made a new deck that really isn't guild related but it does have a couple of Izzet cards as the focal point. Invoke the Firemind, and Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind are the two cards that I am using from the Izzet guild. Most of the deck revolves around Niv-Mizzet and let me draw a card while doing something cool. There are a couple other surprises too. I don't want to give them away just yet because I haven't played this in tournament yet or against the geek. So I need to save a few surprises. If you want a complete deck list you could e-mail me. I must say I feel like a genius for thinking up this deck. It is so much fun to play.

Dimir Deck Doom

Previously I posted that I built a Dimir deck, well last night I took it to the constructed, or type 2 tournament. It is $5.00 to play in constructed, so for those of you who don't want to pay a lot it is the cheaper one to go too.
Anyway I played with my Dimir deck. I got slaughtered. I only won one game. Now to refresh your memories, a tournament consists of matches. There are a possible three games per match. The usual number of matches is five. So I played 11 games. I won 1 out of 11 games. Okay I can now admit to all of you out there that I suck.
So I have now rebuilt my deck. No longer does it have 78 cards in it. It only has 65, which is 5 too many, so hopefully it will play better. I remove cards and switched cards. One card that I removed is Mnemonic Nexus, yes I know this card goes against everything that is Dimir, but I had it in there just in case I played against another Dimir deck. I have now safely removed it to my sideboard. In case you were not aware, in tournaments you can have a sideboard. In sealed deck and booster draft you use every card that you pulled but didn't put in your deck. Though you can not change out your lands afterwards. In constructed you are limited to 15 cards in your sideboard. You can put cards in there that you were thinking about putting into your deck. You also put in cards that you would use in special circumstances, like Mnemonic Nexus or extra disenchants for those pesky players who have a million enchantments. When you use your sideboard you replace cards that are in your deck with ones that are in your sideboard. You must maintain the same number of cards in your deck.
Sorry about going off on sideboarding, but I didn't actually know the rules about sideboarding. I just recently learned them. So I was just wanting to make sure that other people like me wouldn't be left out of the loop. Anyway.... I hope that my Dimir deck will do well next time I play GEEK who is coming home in one and a half weeks! I am so excited! You see GEEK is my brother! I miss him so very much!!!

Type 2

So recently I have been going to the local touraments. I haven't been doing as well as I would like, but it is a lot of fun. They have three types of tournaments; sealed - in which you get a tournament pack and three booster packs to build a deck, booster draft - in which you get three booster packs and you pass them around the table picking a card from each before passing it again, and type 2 - In this type you use a deck that you have created. Type 2 decks can only consist of cards that are not banned and from the current core set and the past two expansion blocks. That means 9th edition, Champions of Kamigawa, Betrayers of Kamigawa, Saviors of Kamigawa, Ravnica: City of Guilds, and Guildpact.

This is a proxy card that I made. If you don't get the joke you should think harder. Oh and all rights are reserved to krazy glue for their picture of the guy hanging from his helmet. So as to not get into trouble.
